Thanks for taking a minute to let me introduce myself.
Hi, I'm Yolanda. I am an artist, family travel curator, household engineer, lover of photography, and closet introvert.
Hang out for awhile, I'll tell ya a little bit about myself.
Not too long after I graduated from college with my BFA (painting), I decided I would stay home with my littles. I created art at home and started a website to sell little pieces on the side. I began my art website in 2010, blogging about art occasionally and slowly to nothing because I grew tired of writing about just art. No one told me I could have a blog with a more than one focus! So now I find myself rebranding and fully excited to share more of myself with you. This blog is my space where I share my everyday adventures, from my passion of art to my travel inspirations.
Not only do I love art, but I have spent a lot of time learning about photography too. I am always taking photos, both with my DSLR and my cell phone. I am forever inspired by my surroundings, be it at home or on the go. I hope to share my passion of the arts with you, they are so important to the longevity of creativity and a happy soul.
Wanna get personal? I'm just an ordinary wife and mom, trying to balance my passion and carpool. Here are some personal tidbits:
- I have a thing for yoga pants; who doesn't, right?
- The best parts of a salad are the last 5 bites with all the little bits of goodness.
- If we meet, I will probably have paint on my hands.
My art has gone through many different fazes and I am forever learning. I started off as an expressionistic landscape artist out of college and have grown into a mixed media artist. What media do I mix? Well, just a little bit of everything.
I love feeling the paint on my hands and watching the colors meld together on the canvas. I love listening to my heart and painting what it tells me to do. I love walking along a path and breathing fresh air and being in the now. I love the entire process of creating.
Lately, my colorful arsenal includes paint, paper, ink, pastel, my Wacom tablet for digital elements and my camera for taking my own stock photos. It is a world of fun! I hope to be able to spend some time painting with you.
